El otro, ¿Soy yo? 

A co-creative work moving between the mediums of analog photography and drawing, developed by Karen Paulina Biswell and María Amilbia Siagama Siagama. The project seeks to integrate visual research into Embera culture through feminine mechanisms and artistic strategies such as collage and performance.

We want to compose this project together. It will be a conversation between worlds, opening an extraordinary time. As each of us is plural, we will become multitudes. We want to draw on everything that unites us, from what is closest to what is farthest. We want to distribute skillful masks so that no one is recognizable — why keep our names? Out of habit, surely. We want to make ourselves imperceptible — not to each other, but to everything that makes us act, feel, or think. Our will is not to signify, but to pass through.

Let us imagine a body as action rather than subject — an active cartography of negatives projected onto the desire to be multiple. At the intersections of the lines María Amilbia draws with the images, a shared body emerges, a new territoriality. Let us invoke creative force, art, as the vanishing point that allows us to become equivalent. Let us draw onto negatives the roots that bind us to the brightness of the moon, the power of breasts, the ecosystems and forms of feminine life — creating masks so that this ritual becomes not a representation, but a transformation.
